THE BURNING EMBER 29

BULLFROG SENT PACKING

I cannot describe how excited I am. The membership has made their voice heard. They spoke and have now shown bullfrog the exit. Isn't democracy grand? I love it. I have to admit that I had some apprehension as I waited for the results. Throughout the night I had several of my sources reporting to me on the counting. Surprisingly, bullfrog came in the back door just before the ballots came downstairs to be counted. He strutted around trying to look important. One of my sources who was there to help with the counting told me early on what the results would be, and he called it quite accurately. I was a bit taken aback by his great insight, but then he told me that after the ballots were opened he helped to put the general ballots into stacks of 25 and as he did course as he did he was able to see the votes. Though he could not make an accurate count, he could see the trend. He related that it was fun to be able to see that Mr. Dunsmore and Mr. Cogan were going to win before the counting actually started. Of course he kept that to himself as he did not want to spoil the surprise for bullfrog. As time passed, the bullfrog's mood started to drop off fast as the numbers began to stack up against him. It became keenly clear very early, almost from the start, that he was not only not going to win, but that he was not even going to get enough votes to even make the race for second close. He sat down on the podium pouting while the count continued. What was funny though was when the folks counting stopped to have some dinner about eight he left without a word. My sources told me everyone just chuckled to themselves and then went back to work. Since then no one has seen or heard from him. When the final count was done the mood in the room was one of elation. Finally, after three years of this moron and his ineptitude we will be free of him. I also want to point out that it was not just a majority in all except one race, it was an overwhelming majority. The bullfrog had his head handed to him on a platter. I just cannot help but say, "Stick a fork in them there frog legs Vern, I think they're done." As much as I hope that it is so, but there are a couple of things that concern me.

The first one is that some of the lame things that Stinson has done to harm the local in general and the Clerks in particular are just coming to light. Another source sent me a copy of an agreement signed by Stinson and Shear where he had Shear agree to send all correspondence to his personal P.O. Box, not the local's address. This little paranoiac power grab has lead to the local being unable to meet time lines on grievances. This has lead to the loss of Clerk jobs at the plant. Bullfrog just had to get one more stick at the Clerk Craft. I am sure that the local will take action to prevent future problems, however we cannot get back the jobs that Stinson has lost.
I just want to ask him, "Hey Greg, you incompetent boob, did you again not think that management would not tell the local what you did? Did you think they would sit on this and keep it secret?" I am constantly in a state of amazement when it comes to Stinson's stupidity. He just keeps on lowering that bar.

Another other thing that concerns me is what damage the lame-duck bullfrog is going to do between now and the day that the new officers that control. We have seen what damage he is capable of over the past few years. Everyone needs to keep their eyes open and watch for bullfrog appearances. When he is spotted question him about what he is doing. See if he can give an sort of an answer. Then go ahead and make a comment on this blog so that others can know and act if needed. We will have to work together to keep the damage to a minimum.

The last thing I am concerned about is what stunts he is going to pull to attack the election results. I just do not believe for a minute that this buffoon is going to return to craft without stirring the poop pot and flinging poop everywhere. It is the only thing at which he has shown any ability. I can imagine that he has called National APWU. He will probably try and challenge the election results with the Dept. of Labor. Then there is the lawsuits. I am certain that now that he is not on the executive board that he will try and sue the local, the other officers, and maybe some of the members. Again, he has shown some ability in this area also.

Now I do not want to be a wet blanket, I just want everyone to keep in mind that it is not completely over yet. I expect bullfrog to croak some more, we just need to continue to keep those pudgy little legs over the fire until they are good and done and gone.

Now as to the MVS race, one question comes to mind, what the hell were those MVS members thinking? Maybe they thought Stinson could win and that would keep him out of their area. Maybe they thought that they could Clinton like a pudgy little place holder for Stinson to take over if things went bad for him. Things though are not always as simple as they seem. If Clinton resigns there will have to be a craft election. Given Stinson's less than stellar results in the general election, I am willing to bet that he will not do any better there. If Clinton does not resign, well MVS will have a Craft Director who cannot even file his own grievances--a director with no experience, no contractual knowledge, and from all appearances no ability to understand anything without having someone draw him pictures with large crayons. I am also fairly certain that there will be no official union position, like assistant craft director or steward for Stinson once he returns to craft--folks are pretty fed up with his antics and they just want him to go away. It is possible that another election could be held for the MVS Director at a membership meeting. I just hope that those thirty or so MVS folks who did not vote show up with the rest and fix this problem.

As a member, if Stinson wants to sue me for making anonymous postings to this site, I say have at it. He'll need more proof than that. And secondly, I have nothing that he could attach to or take, except garnish my paycheck. Good luck there. Heck; I ought to counter sue him for loosing our personal information about a half dozen years back that is probably still under the statue of limitations. As far as any upcoming drama with Clinton and Stinson and the Craft Director position; we really don't need that at this time and it will most likely divide the craft employees into almost two evenly divided groups. We need to all work together and in harmony. But should it start to take that course, I will give up some much needed sleep to cast my vote again at the union hall this time. I think Clinton was the poor choice there, but democracy works that way sometimes.

Change the locks at the hall and the alarm code, immediately! There's no telling what that pyscho will do, once he accepts the reality that he is out.

You may want to burn his chair, too, if you can get the sweat-soaked thing to light up.

If Stinson was willing to hurt the local by signing an agreement with Shear/management in October, before the election had even taken place, imagine what he'll do now as a lame duck.

He (Stinson) is probably working out the details to be our next or second MVS driver to drive exempt without a DOT Medical Card. You know, that required little thing that the rest of us have to have legally.

can we quit talking about Stinson?
yes he will screw the local and the members royally. Is that a suprise? Yes he will file labor charges and try to have a new election, most likely with Dalton's help. Are you still suprised? We need to focus on our future, what Stinson does in the interim is out of our hands. However, don't know why you can't change the locks at the Union Office.

Yes, we are all tired of hearing about or talking about Greg Stinson. But it is a bit like those who gawk while passing a car wreck. It's news happening right in front of you, you know you shouldn't look or stare but do anyhow. Why is that? Because it's interesting or something? Well; this guy keeps making news in some form or fashion and it isn't always pretty. In fact it down right pisses off most of us most of the time. That's why we keep talking about him, until he rides off into the sunset or something.

Like it or not, Stinson is still President until January 4, 2009. Changing the locks cannot be done until he is out of office. Can't be soon enough. I hope that he just disappears, and maybe he will notify the E-Board that he will not be returning to work. I would agree to pay him to stay away.

Did ya all notice that dumb asses website has changed? It is no longer "ask the president". It is now "Ask the Bulldog". Also he has gotten rid of the "Dog Pound" and "endorsements". Still hasn't posted the election results.

Anonymous said...

Yes; I did notice that on "Gulldogs" website last night. Reality must be setting in! Now it's got to be a bit of a panic mode, as in going back to craft and actually physicaly having to work, or working on how to get out of work. Notice he hasn't corrected the typo on his site about "Gulldog" instead of "Bulldog". Probably hasn't noticed or found it yet.

Will the new MVS Craft Director only put out information that is pro republican only, or will he also put out the other side? Just wondering.

Okay, go on talking about Stinson. That one person was right. I guess disasters such as Greg will remain the topic. I am interested in the plans the new E board has to bring us. Probably at the Jan. meeting. But knowing both Dunsmore and Cogan I am sure they have plans in the works and just waiting for the 4th.
I THINK CHANGING THE LOCKS WOULD BE THE SMARTEST THING TO DO. WHAT IS STINSON GOING TO DO? ALL THE UNION MAIL FROM THE POST OFFICE GOES TO HIS PO BOX ANYWAY. All I know is that a previous president who lost the election about 15 years ago did some pretty terrible things to the office AND BOOKS when he/she left. It would be wise and the fiduciary responsibility of the existing officers to change the locks.
THE END!

Who's worried about litigation about posting comments on here? Although a proxy isn't a bad suggestion, freedom of speech still reigns!

Question: Is this now the time to implement the two year term for offices like was tried with Stinson? It didn't fly then, but now that he is elected out do we still go forward? Afterall; if one is doing a good job shouldn't that be any problem? We could probably use that in MVS with our newly elected craft director.

We had two year terms as voted on by the membership. National reverted it back to three years when they illegaly took over the local for their own purposes. Anything that we legally do that Burris, Guffey, Stapleton etc don't like will end us up in the same spot. this year we should tell national to go to hell when it comes to searing in our officers. Plenty of local talent in the area to speak at our functions. We don't need elitist beurocrats (sp?) who are no different than postal management officiating.

Since we have cleaned house in Portland, why don't we start cleaning up the stink in Washington?

Time for new leadership at the top.
Let's start here.

Anonymous said...

Well; we didn't completely clean house in Portland, and which Washington are you refering to? Washington,DC or Washington State?

The national APWU stinks.
They refused our local's actions during our hearings; they sent out their lackeys to coverup the mess and then threatened us with trusteeship.

If anybody needs a change its the national APWU!

You know, a decent President would have been beating down Kim Anderson's office door the last few days looking to suspend operations so that we wouldn't have to risk life and limb getting to work. I hope any January storms will be dealt with differently.

Anonymous said...

Suspend operations at the Post Office at Christmas time? What a laugh, dream on. You would be better suited to point your blame at ODOT and the City of Portland ("The City That Works") for the road conditions left from the winter storm. They are not experienced enough and don't have the money to spend to keep the major streets up, like say Eastern Oregon/Washington or other cities throughout the country who get lots of snow and ice every winter.

Anonymous said...

You're probably right. There probably wouldn't be an actual suspension of operations. It would be nice to see something posted on the bulletin boards from a president that did meet and discuss the issues with Management, and some pointers on what to do if you can't get to work, like ensuring you request admin and not sick leave, keep your 3971 and paystub, see a steward, etc.

I'm not expecting miracles, but some communication would be nice. In that vein, the horror of this last term of office is about over. I hope everyone has a happy holiday season, and let us all look forward to a better, if not happy, new year!

The right and left brain scenario for MVS and their newly elected craft director. Right side of brain: Pro-Republican/ Left side of brain: Pro-Republican. But can't see the forest for the trees. Can barely file a grievance. Good luck to you folks in MVS with representation for your rights. Your going to need it. Jan. 4th 2009 is quickly approaching.

Here is a funny little story. A paranoid co-worker of mine called the FBI and mentioned to them that Stinson and Clinton could possibly be plotting a terrorist atack here in the USA. They might even have the help of Al-Quaida. The FBI not wanting to take any chances tapped both their phone lines, and low and behold, there is some sort of plot going on. Seems they could be conspiracing to have Stinson re-take over as craft director of MVS. Though not much of an FBI issue, they still like to listen for fun. Seems there have been meetings and cars seen at varying places of both people. But what just exactly are they really up to? Is Clinton going to take up the position of craft director, and is Stinson going to actually drive? Or is something else in the works? Stay tuned folks, this just might get interesting. Could there be another re-run of an election in the works for this position? Let's watch this one closely. (This is a ficticious story made up for humor)
